CIL-LOU is 100% Belgian and was founded by Gaëlle and Thomas. They love creative ideas, hair care and their children Louis, Loulou and Cilou. Yes, that is the Cil-Lou after whom we named our care line: a tough girl with spunk, just like our brand. It all makes sense!
The fact that Gaëlle and Thomas founded CIL-LOU does not come out of nowhere. With more than 15 years of experience as a hairdresser and as a mother of three, an important question arose with her. “How can we turn that annoying wash of our children into a family moment that is fun and creative?” Together with her husband Thomas, an entrepreneur in heart and soul, she set to work and voilà: that's how CIL-LOU came to life!
Not just a shampoo
Shampoo for adults? There are plenty of options to choose from. Shampoo for babies? It’s been on the market for years! But what about hair care for kids? At CIL-LOU, we believe that growing kids are also entitled to their own hair & care product collection. And because we couldn’t find such products, we decided to develop them ourselves! Our colourful, deliciously-scented hair products do not only care for shiny, healthy hair, but also make bathtime much more fun thanks to the cheerful CIL-LOUs.
Local business
We also do our best to operate and produce as sustainably as possible. The development of the products takes place locally at our location in Eeklo. For the production we work together with a partner in the Netherlands (nice and close!) who attaches as much importance to ecological production as we do.
We put our team together on the basis of enthusiasm, knowledge and drive. Each of us is an entrepreneur and a real expert in his/her profession! By combining our expertise in specific fields, we really form a wonderful team!

Thanks to CIL-LOU’s bright colours and delicious scents, your kids can immerse themselves in a different imaginary world with all kinds of crazy stories. Red shampoo on your head?
